Bendy Straws (quote post)
May 18th, 2010 11:30Quite a few new quotes this month! I kept waiting for an actual month to roll around, but then the pile of quotes kept getting higher and higher... XD So, a somewhat early post for everyone! Enjoy! ♥
☸ The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?
☸ For Zen students a weed is a treasure.
☸ Let the clock and the earth do their own thing... Let the comings and goings of life continue... But YOU stay HERE and NOW. This exercise is to bring you to the Eternal Present where it all is.
☸ This is the Zen approach: nothing is there to be done. There is nothing to do. One has just to be. Have a rest and be ordinary and natural.
☸ As the light of a torch illumines the objects in a dark room, even so the light of wisdom illumiates all men, whosoever they may be; if they turn towards it.
☸ Walking is Zen. Sitting, too, is Zen. If I speak or am silent, Tarry or hasten: Everything, in its true nature, Is stillness.
☸ An evil deed, like freshly drawn milk, does not turn sour at once.
☸ You should study not only so that you become a mother when your child is born, but also that you become a child.
☸ However looked at, it's a world to the loathed - but as long as you live here I'm drawn to it.
☸ There is a secret One inside us; the planets in all the galaxies pass through his hands like beads. That is a string of beads one should look at with luminous eyes.
☸ In the song of the rushing torrent, hold onto the joyful assurance: I will become the sea. And this is not a vain supposition; it is abolute humility, because it is the truth.
☸ Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
☸ I don't know others, Others don't know me. By not-knowing we follow nature's course.
☸ Never has a man who has bent himself been able to make others see straight.
